Kelli Bacote is Chief Operating Officer, where she spearheads the development of the near, mid and long term objectives of the organization. She serves as the liaison between the organization and public, elected officials, volunteers, community partners, advocates and their organization. After starting her own non-profit, ATL READ, Inc., and providing over more than 5,000 new books into the hands of kids from low-income families, she was thrilled to continue her career with Better Outcomes for Our Kids.
Prior to joining BOOK, Kelli spent nine years teaching Pre-K-3rd grades. In addition, she has supported numerous teachers outside of the classroom in Atlanta and Chicago Public Schools for over ten years in the roles of Reading Recovery Teacher Leader, Reading First Coordinator, Intervention Specialist, adjunct professor at National Louis University and SRT-3 Model Teacher Leader. Kelli has extensive experience assisting instructional personnel and stakeholders in the areas of Public Education.
Bacote is a native of Atlanta, Georgia where she was educated in the Atlanta Public School system. Kelli is committed to serving her community and is a member of the Buckhead Cascade City Chapter of The Links, Inc. and Jack and Jill of Atlanta. Her experiences in education and throughout the community formulated her desire to serve and enhanced her passion for empowering youth to achieve their greatest potential. She enjoys traveling, swimming, and spending time with family and friends. Bacote has two amazing daughters to whom she credits as being her greatest inspiration and motivation.
