We’ve had an incredible response from our July programming. We were able to add over 250 parents, teachers, and school and community leaders to our digital network. As we get the final plans from most of our metro Atlanta school districts, we believe the extended start dates will allow for more preparation and potential success. Our goal is to continue to provide leadership as a resource for parents during these unprecedented times. BOOK is in the process of developing our fall event agenda, and will be focusing on many critical issues.

As we launch virtual learning across metro Atlanta, we believe a discussion around the stress of home schooling, and the overall mental health of our teachers, parents and students, will be an important conversation. The 2020-2021 school year will require us all to “roll up our sleeves” in order to minimize the impact for African American children. BOOK plans to continue do its part to keep OUR communities informed, and engaged, and together.

Thank you to Comcast executives Wayne Martin, one of our Men of BOOK Advisory Board Members and Andy Macke for their support of this important, virtual event.
