BOOK is proud to have signed an MOU in 2020 with K-12 Education.

Our goal is to grow and expand this relationship in 2021, as the acceptance and engagement around virtual learning continues to grow. The COVID-19 crises has started new conversations, as parents have had to lead the learning process from home. Our goal is to continue to lead important conversations around Virtual Learning, and other types of educational platforms, to make sure we continue to support African American families. Learn more about K12 here: https://www.k12.com/parent-student-resources/faqs.html K12 is the nation’s leading provider of online curriculum and support services for grades K–12. Families use the K12 curriculum and learning programs through online public schools, online private schools, blended or “hybrid” schools, and independently through direct course purchase. The K12 team has developed a comprehensive program that is designed to exceed national and state education standards. Our goal is to provide children with an education that is comparable or superior to that provided by the nation’s best public and private schools, regardless of demographic constraints.

Join Us in Celebrating Courage at Lower School’s Successful ‘Say Hello’ Week!

We are thrilled to share that our first annual Lower School Say Hello Week was a resounding success! In alignment with this year's virtue theme of courage, students engaged in enriching activities designed to foster connection and build community. With the guidance of our dedicated Lower School leadership, faculty, House Leaders, SGA, and Sources of Strength, we welcomed each student warmly in carpool, distributed special name tags during morning assemblies, and enjoyed fun trivia sessions with Dr. Han. Our aim is to create a vibrant campus culture where courageous and intentional speech thrives throughout every grade level. This quarter marks just the beginning of our journey together! Join Us to Ensure Every Child in Our Community Can Read by 2024!

In 2024, a staggering 7 out of 10 kids from the graduating class struggled with reading at grade level. This is a wake-up call for our education system. We must urge our members of Congress to prioritize the educational needs of our children for a brighter future. Together, we can advocate for policies that truly benefit our families and ensure every child has the opportunity to succeed. Let's make our voices heard through @NatParentsUnion! #EducationMatters #FutureOfOurKids #Advocacy #ReadingSkills #Congress
