Access to effective early education, including kindergarten, has shown meaningful positive short and long-term benefits on academic, social, and economic outcomes for all students—and most profoundly for Black and Latino children.
Studies have shown that children from low-income communities in California are less likely than their higher-income peers to be school-ready by kindergarten and even more likely to benefit from participating in mandatory kindergarten programs.
